Your peaceful home score will be based on the following key areas:

Main Cause

This is the cause of the noise in your home - how the noise from your neighbours is getting in. Usually holes in the structure, a poor renovation technique or the building materials used in the construction of your property.

Direct Path

This is the separating party wall between you and your neighbours or the separating floor/ceiling if the neighbours live above or below.  The thickness and materials used will affect the amount of noise able to get into your property.

Indirect Paths

These are the other walls, ceiling, floor in your room and in the surrounding rooms in your home.  Usually 50% of the unwanted neighbour noise is coming into your property through these indirect "flanking" paths.

Fixtures & Fittings

These are the finishing touches in your room e.g. plug sockets, skirting, downlighters, coving, TV's on the wall.  How and where these have been installed will affect the amount of noise getting into your property.
